Charging is as easy as plugging in a mobile phone

The charging experience is super easy – park and plug in to charge, like you would a mobile phone. If you have an available 220-240V charging station at home you can simply charge it overnight, allowing for uninterrupted daytime driving. If you do need to charge, the Bolt EV is equipped with a DC Fast Charging system to charge the battery, providing up to an estimated 145 km in just 30 minutes.

Things to consider

The key is to plug in every day after work so you never empty your battery. That way, you’re just topping off what you used earlier that day
You may want to delay charging to manage household electrical lead at off-peak times, or if the electricity supplier has preferential rates. This is usually at night while you sleep

The fastest, most convenient way to charge at home if connected to a wall charger (230v/32amp)

Things to consider

AC Level 1

The AC Level 1 charging wall-box can be used with this outlet.

Type G is a 3-pin plug. The Pins are rectangular and in a triangle formation
Type C is a 2-pin plug – The pins are round
You can already see these 220-240 volt wall outlets everywhere in your home if you live in the Middle East
This is the plug that you use to plug in regular home appliances
Wall outlets may vary depending on market and location, please refer to your dealer for compatible Level 1 AC charging solution

AC Level 2

AC Level 2 uses a specific industry standard plug, the Type 2 Mennekes. See charging area below to learn more.

Type 2 is a 7-pin type plug that can accommodate single and three phase AC charging
Type 2 plug is used with 220-240 Volt 32amp and above charging sources
Type 2 plugs require a portable cable if the charging source does not include one
Most public stations are Level 2 chargers with type 2 connectors
If you need a dedicated wall mounted 32amp charging at a personal location, it will need to be installed by a professional electrician

DC Level 3

This is mostly available at public charging sites and is the fastest way to charge on the go; with up to 145 km in 30 minutes and up to 80% of your battery in 1 hour
Level 3 charging ports are compatible with Combined Charging System (CCS) Combo2
The Combined Charging System (CCS), as the name indicates, combines different charging methods – AC and DC into single connector, Combo2 refers to it being a Type 2 AC based combination
DC Fast Charging may be available for home installation; however, it might not be the most practical option for your home or budget

REGEN ON DEMAND^TM

With just a simple pull of the paddle on your steering wheel, you’re able to slow down without using the actual brake pedal^§. This helps convert energy into more electricity and then transfers it back to the battery.

ONE-PEDAL DRIVING

When driving in Low mode at any speed, you can slow down – or even come to a complete stop – by simply lifting your foot off the accelerator. This allows you to use your brakes less, which means less energy is wasted, and in turn helps to increase your range. One Pedal Driving and deceleration features may be limited when the battery is near full charge or cold. Of course, you should always use your brake pedal if you need to stop quickly.

ELECTRONIC PRECISION SHIFT

This feature allows you to easily and electronically select gears while providing a smooth and precise response. There’s no clunky mechanical shifter, which creates more open front passenger space.
