Chevrolet is proud to partner with Yas Marina Circuit to bring you the Chevrolet Camaro Drag Racing Experience showcasing the exceptional acceleration of the Camaro ZL1 of 0-100 time of just 3.5 seconds.Passengers will then have a chance to drive themselves, under careful supervision of their instructor.
If you’re looking for something on the wild side, the Chevrolet Drift Taxi is a loud and thrilling insight into the world of drifting. Driven by a professional drift instructor, this passenger experience will spin you around the extreme angles of the North Handling of Yas Marina Circuit in the super modified and lightweight Camaro SS.
What to expect
Before getting into the driver’s seat you will receive a technical briefing from the Yas Drag Racing Centre’s chief instructor. Safety regulations will be explained, followed by reaction training in the reaction simulator room. There, you will learn about the “Christmas Tree” lighting signal system and will be taught to manage your reaction times. Your instructor will be at the wheel on the first test run and will brief you on staging, braking zones and the finish line.
On the second run, you will be in the driver’s seat. Your instructor will be in the passenger seat to assess your handling and control of the vehicle. Provided you manage this well, you will be permitted to take the remainder of your runs on your own without the instructor in the car. Your instructor will watch your performance at all times and brief you following each of your eight runs.
About the car
The Chevrolet Camaro is a force to be reckoned with. The SS turns the focus squarely to performance with the capability of 455 horsepower and 614 Nm torque. While the ZL1 boasts 650 horsepower and 881 Nm of torque. Both trims come standard with a 6.2L V8 engine with available 10-speed paddle shift automatic transmission.
